Pocket Money For Power Savers

If your early mornings are as hectic as mine, then you'll know how easy it is to forget to switch off the geyser before leaving for work.  We've got three kids - so its madness from the time we get woken up to the time we pull out the drive way.  Honestly, between bathing, cooking, feeding, dressing, packing, washing, kicking and screaming - who has time to switch off the geyser, right?

If you agree, try this...

We've made our children the power saving police and we reward them with pocket- money.  It works brilliantly!  My wife made up a chart which we hang on the wall.  We award gold stars everytime they help us to save power.  It's not a long list:

1) Switching off lights when no one is in the room

2) Switching off the geyser when we leave in the morning and get back at night

3) Switching plugs off at the wall

4) Switching the TV off when no one is watching

The kids love it.  They have become super watchdogs - ever ready to rack up more gold stars.  20 stars = R20

Give it a go.  Your energy wasting days will be over.  I gaurantee it.
